We wish you a bloggy Christmas

Greetings from Belushi's American sports bar in the former East Berlin. Elvis is playing on the loudspeakers, some random 10k road race is on the myriad TVs, my boyfriend is playing World of Warcraft beside me, and it's Christmas morning. What more could a girl want?

Last night we had Christmas dinner at the Chaos Computer Club. About fifteen people sat round a large table replete with power outlets, phone chargers and empty bottles of highly caffeinated beverages, and chatted to each other over IRC between courses. Again, what more could a girl want?

The traditional year-end wrap-up will follow in the next few days, but for the moment, Merry (slightly surreal) Christmas everyone!

Madam Producer in Post-Production

The film shoot went off (mostly) without a hitch, and Mister Director is currently spending long hours(1) in the bowels of the edit suite(2) in order to produce a final cut before the end of the year. Then it's time to look for screenings and festivals.

(1) Not that long, really. I think he may need to pull some late nights if he's going to hit his deadline. I get to say that, I'm the producer.

(2) His bedroom.

You may address me as Madam Producer

The "crew" section of my CV is a bit, well, all over the place. I've got credits as First AD, Script Supervisor, simply "Crew" (probably my personal favourite), and, oddly seeing as I can't act, actor. And now it looks like I'll soon have my first Producer credit thanks to a short film by the slightly terrifying Piers Beckley. We're planning to shoot next weekend.

The blagging and cat herding side of production work is not my favourite, to say the least. So it'll be interesting to see how this goes -- though today's production meeting in which I made a list of tasks and ordered Piers to do half of them was fun.

In other news, there's a potential Mixt Nutz development that looks almost certain to come off, but which I'll hold off blogging about until it actually happens.

And in other other news, did you know Kirk is an ocelot?
